Hundreds of Employed at the Trabaho Caravan Supported by SPPI

Light Industry and Science Parks (LISP) I, II, and II in partnership with locators, and the Provincial Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) of Laguna and Calamba, held a job fair, organized by the ICCP Group Foundation Inc. (IGFI), last May 27- 28, 2019 at the Jose Memorial School in Calamba, Laguna. Thirty-five locators from the three industrial parks participated in the event geared towards generating employment primarily for senior high school graduates. Other applicants from vocational and technical schools were also accommodated to explore opportunities in the manufacturing industry.

Unlike usual job fairs, the event with the theme, “Trabaho Caravan 2019: Kalidad na Hanapbuhay sa Mamamayan ay Alay”, served as a one-stop shop to jobseekers by providing more services like a Basic Employment Process seminar which gave the candidates useful and practical application tips. Government agencies such as Social Security System (SSS), PagIBIG, PhilHealth and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) were also present to assist the applicants in securing preemployment requirements.

A total of 1,135 applicants participated in Trabaho Caravan 2019 of which around 33% (or 377) are senior high school graduates. Similarly, 67 senior high school graduates were part of the 231 applicants hired on the spot.

Due to the success of the job fair, the participating HR groups and PESO office of Laguna agreed to make Trabaho Caravan an annual event.

Job seekers both newly graduates and seasoned workers flock the Chipeco Hall of Jose Rizal Memorial school to explore labor opportunities in the country’s top manufacturing companies.
